About:Chinese Embassy in UAE

I am travelling from Abu Dhabi to Beijing and onto Vancouver. Do I need a an L visa or G visa?

I am a UK citizen with residency in UAE. I am travelling with my family to Vancouver via Beijing. I would like to stop over in a Beijing hotel outside the airport for one night before onward travel to Vancover. The duration would be longer than 24hrs but less than 48 hrs. On the return trip, we will just remain in Beijing airport for the connecting flight. Do we need a visit visa or a transit visa?

You need a China double-entry transit visa (G visa) for your flight.
