Can I get tourist visa for china?

I am in Kathmandu, the capital city of Nepal. I want to visit different cities and historical places of your country with my spouse in October of 2011. Now, I would like to request you to inform me about the whole processes and check list of required documents to get a tourist visa. Can I talk in telephone with any officials of consular section of your embassy at Kathmandu. Your cooperation in this regard will be valuable for me. Thanking you.

First, you need to prepare the below documents to apply China tourist visa:
1. The original passport with at least six-month validity and two blank visa pages, one photocopy of the passport page containing the personal particulars.

2. Truly completed and signed Visa Application Form of the People's Republic of China. One recent passport-photo size color photograph of the applicant.

3. Invitation letter (if visit for the first time).
If the applicant cannot provide an invitation letter, please provide a visa recommendation letter from the applicant's employing company, organization, etc.

4. Other additional documents required according to the merits of each applicant, e.g. bank statements, round-trip air tickets booking, etc.

Second, Visa application could be delivered to the Consular Section of the Embassy either by the applicant or the entrusted travel agencies. Visa application by mail is not accepted. If necessary, the applicant may be required to take an interview.

Usually, it takes four working days to issue the visa. If the visa is needed earlier, additional urgent fee will be charged.
