Can I bring a professional video camera into China?

I know I can bring in one "small" or "mini" video camera into China, but I'm unclear about bring in a larger (not huge) professional grade camera with a shotgun mic. Would this red-flag me at customs? I don't want to run the risk of having my expensive camera confiscated. I am not a journalist, but am traveling with a group of students.
