What is best way to get to the Mutianyu section by bus/train from this hotel and where from?  How long is the journey?

You should get to Dongzhimen first. There are bus 936 to Mutianyu at Dongzhimen waixiejie. It takes about 2-2.5 hours to the wall. The direct bus is available at 7am and 8:30am. At any time, the bus only run to Huairou. Then you have to change another bus to Mutianyu.
