Can I apply for Chinese Visa with an Extended Philippine passport?

I have an extended Philippine passport and its validity of extension is up to an additional of two years. Can I apply for Chinese Visa if I have an extended Philippine passport?

I have to work in China in about 3 weeks time. Thank you for your reply.
