You can apply for a China visa in Australia through Chinese Visa Application Service Center over your area of residence. And you should provide valid Australian visa as well as entry record to the Consulate General (Original and the copy) when submit your visa application. You can go in person or entrust someone else to submit your visa application on your behalf. Please make an appointment first on their website.
