About:China Customs Declaration

Hi, I'll be traveling to Guangzhou from France then back to Singapore in May. Do I need to declare and/or pay tax for designer bags bought in Europe which I'll bring home to Singapore after 5 days in China? Thanks.

Generally, you have to declare and if you will bring your stuff for personal use out of China, you have not to pay for the tax when you enter. The custom has their own understanding about the reasonable amount of personal stuff.

Hi Jamie, I read in other q&a that a deposit might be imposed on luxury items for personal use when entering China. Is that applicable to me and will I be able to get the deposit back in full? Thanks.

I don't know the deposit. Generally, if you declare when you enter, the custom will allow you to bring in. When you exit, they will check the declare document. If they are accordant, you can get out safely.
