I like to visit both the Summer Palace and Old Summer Palace, but since I don't want to endure 8-10 hours of walking, can I bring a bike inside or rollerblade? Are there shuttles within the respective palaces? Thanks.

Bike and rollerblade are not permitted to be taken inside. There is Battery Cart Service provided in them, but the part between Octagonal Pavilion and Xiuyi Bridge is skipped during the May Day and National Day holidays.  The Ticket fare is CNY12.
