About:Chinese Consulates in Japan

I am a student who's studying in Kyushu University, Japan. I am living in Fukuoka now.
From 15-19 of March, 2011, I have an International Conference in Hongkong.

I couldn't find an English version. I am going to take care of my Visa to China Embassy/Consulate General and I have difficulties to read the website due to Chinese and Japanese language.
1. Could you inform me what documents should I prepare for getting Visa?
2. What kind of Visa should I take, Tourist or Student Visa?
3. How long processing the Visa until it is issued (assume: documents required are complete.)?

Thank you for your information.

If you go to Hong Kong to take the international conference from 15-19 of March, you don't need to apply for Hong Kong visa, Indonesians are exempt from a visa to Hong Kong for up to 30 days.

Consulate-General of the People's Republic of China in Fukuoka
Fukuoka-Shi Chiuo-Ku Jigyohama 1-3-3, Japan

Dear Mr. Wu Shumin,

My name is Heru Sukoco, Indonesian. I am studying in Kyushu University, Japan as a PhD student now.
On March 15-19, 2011, I am going to Hongkong attending the international conference. I am using a diplomatic passport for studying in Japan.
I heard from my friend who had been in Beijing for 1 week with the same purpose, She told me that if we go to China using a diplomatic passport we don't need to take care of VISA. Is that true?

I also saw on the Internet that Indonesian may have trip to Hongkong without VISA for less than 30 days.
I need the further information of VISA because I plan to go to Fukuoka China Consulate-General by this week or next week.

Thank you for your information and kindly help in advance.

Sincerely yours,

Heru Sukoco

I am sorry, there was a mistake about the type of my passport.
I meant, I am using a service/official passport for studying in Japan.

Thank you for kindly help in advance.

Regards,
Heru

Mr.Heru Sukoco, you don't need a visa to Mainland China for 30 days at most if you hold a service/official passport. You are exempt from a visa to Hong Kong for 30 days, either.
