i am coming into pu dong from usa, final destination is nanjing.

Question

I am coming into Pu Dong from USA, final destination is Nanjing.  What is the best way to get from Pu Dong aiport to Nanjing?  Taxi to railway station, and train to Nanjing was method used in the past.   It was very cumberson travel, especially with all our luggage.  Is there a better way?  How about subway to train station in Shanghai?

It is expensive to take taxi to the train station but you need to make a transfer to take subway. So, I prefer to suggest airport shuttle bus. Airport bus Line 5 goes to Shanghai Railway Station from Pudong airport.
