About:China Visa Entries / Validity / Duration of Stay

If I apply for a 3 month visa, does the 3 months begin when I enter mainland China or from the date the visa was issued? If it is from the date of issue what would be the duration of the visa i.e. if I entered the country 2 months after the visa was issued does that mean I can only stay in the country for the 1 month remaining? Thanks.

Mr.Cathal, I think that you are confused by the validity and the stay duration of China visa, first, you should be make clear that 3 months is the validity or the stay duration.

The visa comes into force once it is issued. Please read the visa sample on this page, 18May2007 is the Issue Date, 18AUG2007 is the last date for you to enter China, the stay duration is 30 days and it is counted from the date of entry. The stay duration doesn't have relation with the validity.

The visa comes into force once it is issued, the stay duration of visa is counted from the date of entry. Please read the information on this page carefully, then you will know the difference.
