Mansoor, it is very hard to say whether you will find it feasible to exit the airport or not. Such a detail is very much and in its entirety quite personal. It all depends on several details like: is your layover during the night or day, are you sufficiently mobile and without the need of physical assistance, are you interested to enjoy your free accommodation if your layover is during the day or similar.
If I were you and my layover is during the night and I do not need any physical assistance I would definitely apply to exit the airport to have a decent night sleep. So, if you decide to do that here are the steps to follow:
- You will apply online to fill out the Chinese arrival card
- When you land, you will perform fingerprinting at automatic fingerprinting machine
- After this you will head to the 24/240 hour visa free transit counter where you will apply for a temporary entry permit. This is all free of any charge and here the main detail is your booked accommodation.
- When you receive the temporary entry permit in your passport you will proceed to the immigration and then to the accommodation counter to check the transport options.
- You will return on time in order to cross the immigration and security check and to reach your departure gate on time.
Now, I leave it to you to decide whether to apply to exit the airport or not. I hope this helps.
