About:China Transit Visa

Hi, my friend and I are hoping to travel from Hong Kong to somewhere in southeast Asia, most probably Hanoi, mid February. Obviously to do this, we are going to need to travel overland through China. We are looking at travelling straight through more or less by train and were wondering would a transit visa suffice for China, and can we buy it in Hong Kong, for how much, and where from exactly? We are Australian citizens, if that is to affect the cost. Thank you! :)

You need a Tourist Visa to China, you can apply for the visa in Hong Kong, the fee is 150HK$. As for the train from Hong Kong to Hanoi, you have to travel overland China, first, take a train from Kowloo to Guangzhou, it takes about 2 hours, the fee is 29 RMB for hard seat, 44RMB for soft seat, then take a train from Guangzhou to Nanning, it takes 12- 14 hours, there are direct train from Nanning to Hanoi. You can't buy the train tickets in Hong Kong. For more information, please refer to https://www.travelchinaguide.com/china-trains/
