About:China Embassy in Thailand

Hello, I am in China now and want to apply for a Z work visa for a job in Shenzhen. I want to go to the Chinese consulate in Hong Kong but they say I must go to my "country of residence" for this and I cannot do it in Hong Kong. I'm a U.S. citizen but my country of residence is Thailand - I have a house and family there and have lived there for many years, but am in China now. Can I apply for the Z work visa in Bangkok? I have all the Z visa documents, a work contract, police report, and health certificates. Thank you for your reply.

You can apply for work visa in Bangkok, but the Thailand residence permit is required, if you can't provide the Thailand Residence Permit, please provide your Property ownership certificate, marriage license and the copy of your wife's paspsort if she is Thai citizen.
