About:China Embassy in Thailand

I shall be visiting Thailand in February 2011.
I am British citizen resident UK
I wish to visit Hong Kong with my partner and take a trip for shopping to Shenzhen for shopping.
Would I be permitted to apply for a Visa in Bangkok?
My partner is Thai and a Thai resident can we apply together?

You can try to apply for a visa to Shenzhen in Bangkok together with your parter, but if they do not accept your visa application, you can apply for it in HK from Commissioner's Office of China Foreign Affairs. For your partner, he is required to process visa in Thailand.
