About:China Customs Declaration

I am not sure if this is the right place to ask ... but I posted a parcel to China ... how long can I expect it to be in Customs waiting for clearance? ... I can trace the parcel online and I can see that it has already been in Guangzhou for over 10 days. When I posted it from England I had a choice of 4, 6, 10 or 60 day delivery .. all with different prices. I paid extra for the 4-day delivery .. which is a bit of a joke if it gets there in 3 days but sits there currently for an additional 11 days in customs.

It is a few simple Christmas gifts posted to my wife who is currently in China .. nothing prohibited or due for taxation .. just confectionary, books, soft toy etc ... and clearly marked on the customs form as a "gift" ... so is it normal for the package to be delayed there for this time? .. my wife contacted the post office in Guangzhou and they said it is out of there control - there is nothing they can do till it is released by customs.

Will customs care that it is posted with a "global priority" postage? .. ie 4 day maximum for delivery? .. or will they treat it as any other kind of package?

Finally, is there anything I can do to find out where it is in the queue and how much longer it is likely to take?

Thanks

The post office is right that it all depends on the China customs, you may contact Guangzhou Customs to get the truth.
