About:Shanghai Pudong Airport

Hello! I am flying to Sydney with a five-hour layover in Shanghai on the 23rd of December. I would really love to have a shower in between flights as I will have come from an 11-hour flight from Frankfurt and will carry on for another 11 hour flight to Sydney. I've read your answers on airport hotels but my worry is, being a Filipino passport holder, I may not exit the airport to pay for an hourly rate at hotels within the area. Is there a shower area within the airport?

Hey, A three-star-rated hotel is located on the Transfer Level of the main terminal building in the airport, you have no need to go outside the airport.

Thank you for your reply, Ms Chery. Just to clarify, access to the three-star hotel located on the Transfer level will not require me to go through Immigration? Would you have any idea how much the hourly rate for this hotel is? What is its name exactly?

Yes, you don't have to go through immigration to access to the hotel. The hotel rate is about CNY60/hour. However, it is said that this hotel has been close for reconstruction and there is no shower equipped. You'd better call the hotel for detials before leaving.
