About:Standard Tour Index 3

I am travelling from the US to Ulan Bator (United #851, Air China #901), through the Beijing airport, and have 14 hours in the Beijing airport. I have a US passport, but not a China visa. To enter the hourly lounge, do I go through customs? Or can I walk to the hourly lounge without a visa?

Thank you for any information.

I'm afraid that a visa will be needed.
