There is only one train T98B available from Hong Kong to Beijing. And the hard sleeper compartments are open and comprise six fixed bunks, arranged as an upper, middle and lower on either side, which are just for 6 people. However, soft sleeper cabin with two upper and two lower bunks is for four persons.
