Hello everyone, appreciate your advice.My boyfriend and myself will be traveling to Shanghai between 15-28 Oct and have joined tour during the first half. Being adventuress, we decided to explore AnHui on our own.1). Should we stay for 2 nights at Tunxi as we wanted to visit the town and thousand island, checkout the next day and head straight to HuangShan. I understand that the journey is 100km away from AnHui.2). Or should we stay for 1 night at Tunxi, checked out the next day after visiting thousand island and arrive at the base on Huan Shan late in the evening. Stay overnight at the base and set off to HuangShan the next day.3). If the answer is to stay at the base of Huang Shan, which hotel which is price reasonably and comfortable will you recommend? I decided to stay at Bei tou hotel at Huang Shan.4). How long is the journey from ShangHai to Tunxi assuming we are taking the train. What about buses?Thank you.poppy

Hi, firstly, Tunxi is very close to Huangshan but is not very close to Thousand Islands if you mean the lake in Zhejiang Province, I think better take Bus to Chunan, the county that the lake locates, there you can stay one night and then go to Huangshan the next day. Everyday at 14:30 at Thousand Islands Lake Tourism Pier, there is a bus go to Huangshan, you can take this bus to HUangshan and go to the mountain and enjoy the sunrise.Everyday at 14:25, there is a bus from Shanghai South Bus Station to Thousand Islands Lake, it takes 6 hours to reach there.Since Thousand Islands Lake is between Shanghai and Tunxi, it will waste time on the way if you go to Tunxi first and then back to Thousand Island Lake.Hope this can help you.
