Questions: Can we get high speed train tickets to go direct from Beijing to Changzhou or do we need to go to Shaighai first? What is the train number? We plan to take this trip on the evening of October 4th. Any problem purchasing our tickets at the train station or should we purchase in advance? How much time will it take to get from PEK to the Beijing South train station by bus and metro?

Thanks for your assistance.

The high speed train from Beijing South to Shanghai Hongqiao has a stop at Changzhou. You can take it and get off at Changzhou. D-train 309, 321, 313,386, 307, and 301 can take you to Changzhou.

You'd better book ticket in advance as October 4th is the National Holiday and it will be difficult to get ticket.

You can take the airport line 2 and transfer subway Line 4 at Xidan to Beijing South station. It takes about one hour.

Thank you Mr. David for this helpful information. Question: Do the various D-trains you list have soft sleepers?

Hi sir, only these D-trains running overnight are equipped with sleepers. The other ones at daytime only have first or second-class seats, which are also comfortable.
