About:Xinjiang Travel

Hey
Me and my Czech friend are planning on going through xinjian province in our own vehicle. What I would like to know is that is hiring a guide absolutely necessary? Tour guide companies have given us ridiculous prices for such guides and insist on that they are compulsory:O?

You and your friend? It seems that only you two are not safe enough, most of the people who drive through Xinjiang are in motocade, you need more professional advise. If you only have you two to go along the way, hire a reliable tour guide is necessary.

well a couple of more people might join us and we have local contacts from the area to help us plan our route. But all I want to know is that can we go on without hiring a guide?

I think you can hire a tour guide for the dangerous route or the place where people are easy to get lost. In order to save money, you can go without a tour guide in some safe areas.
