About:Chinese Embassy in France

Hi,
-I have 2 nationalities: from Chile and France, currently living in HK with dependent visa in my chilean passport.
-somebody told me that for mainland tourist visa was better to use my french passport(so wrong!)... so i did my flight and hotel bookings(both paid already) with french passport. But when i tried to apply for the visa the requirements were proof of: return tickets, hotel booking and life insurance! nothing of these required for chilean passport! so my question is: can i apply for the mainland's tourist visa using my chilean passport and then use my french one for airports and hotel?
Hope is not too complicated!
Thanks!

yes, you can apply for the Mainland China tourist visa by using your Chilean passport and use your French passport for the flights and hotel, please take both passports when you travel in China.
