About:West Lake (Xi Hu)

I'm visiting the area nest october. IS it possible to go there from Shangai, very early in the morning,visit the WEst LAke by boat and be back to Shanghai not later than 15:00 pm.? If possible how should I do?

Well, you may take D trains from Shanghai to Hangzhou and then take a taxi to West Lake. To get back to Shanghai, better take D trains too. But you may not visit West Lake very well if you insist going back before 15:00.

I've just returned from Shanghai - Huanzhou and visited West Lake. We took a train from Shanghai Central Train Station to Huangzhou - about 1 hour and 25 minutes travel time by fast train. Take a taxi to West Lake - spent 2 hours there and took a boat ride - a choice of half an hour trip to 2 hour trip!! Very interesting and beautiful place to visit!!

its also true that it will be winter, somewhat gloomy that time of year, late spring or summer much better
