About:Chinese Embassy in Canada

Thank you Bob for such quick reply. My baby hasn't been born yet, but will be due any time soon. I plan to travel with him to China one month after he is born. I am not sure if my baby can get a passport soon enough before us leaving Canada. Do you mean he has to have a passport to go to China?

For me, I still hold Chinese passport, so i will not need to get visa application.

yes, he had better to obtain a passport to prove his nationality, if his father is Canadian passport holders, he can join the nationality of Canada or China, if he doesn't have passport, it is hard for immigration officer to check his nationality.

You also need to apply for a China L visa for your baby, the required documents are required:
1. his passport
2. copy of the passports of you and your husband
3. birth certificate and its copy
4. one completed visa application form affixed with your baby's passport photo, you or your husband can sign the form
