About:Shanghai Pudong Airport

Dear All,
I am enquiring on behalf of my 22 year old son. He arrives Shanghai on the 12th July 10 ex London at 8am an departs at 1945 hours to Australia. Is there any tours he an go on in this period, as it is a long time to wait at an airport. Does he need a visa traveling on an Australian passport, i understand he would need to check baggage and clear customs coming back into the airport.As i am paying nothing too expensive.

He does not need a visa and the time is enough for him to visit the Bund, East Nanjing Road and Yuyuan Garden area. The nearest airport bus stop to Pudong airport is Lao Xi Men. He can take taxi to Lao Xi Men after visiting Yuyuan. Or take East Nanjing Road as the last place to see and take subway Line 2 back to Pudong Airport. Subway will not go to Pudong Airport after 16:00. If later, he can get off at Longyang Road and then take maglev train/airport bus to Pudong Airport.
