About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Urumqi Diwopu International Airport

Hello, i have a itinerary from Samarkand to Hong Kong with a stopover (3 hours) in Urumqi Diwopu International Airport.

Does the 24-hour visa-free transit apply in this situation? I hold a Tajikistan passport. Thank you in advance!

Yes, 24 hour visa free transit is applicable even if you transit via Urumqi airport. You can do that and the route Samarkand - Urumqi - Hong Kong with a stop of 3 hours in Urumqi is acceptable. The main problem here is the fact that there are no flights between Samarkand and Urumqi. In any case, you can perform such a transit covered by 24 hour visa free transit, but double check about your entire itinerary. Hope this helps.
