I will reach Shanghai Pudong Airport at 23:00 but have to wait for my friend who will arrive at 05:35 the next morning.  So I have to wait in the airport for 6 hours.  Can I wait in the transfer area or the hourly hotel in the transfer area? If yes, how about my luggage.  Will it be lost if I don't collect it until 6 hours later?  If I have have to come out of the transfer aread and collect my luggage, then is there any place that I can take a rest for the night at the arrive hall for 6 hours?

Suggest you come out of the transfer area, get your lugguage and just waiting in the hall of the terminal. The hourly louge is in transfer hall, but you can find rest room of the airport and airlines in arrival hall of departure hall.
