About:Chinese Embassy in U.S.A.

I am a US citizen, planning a trip to China in July. My passport has expired and even if I expedite it, it won't have been valid for 6 months before the trip. Will this be a major problem, or is it a more flexible standard?

Ms.JenCarCoo, it is a maor problem, when you apply for China visa, Original passport with at least 2 blank visa pages and valid for at least 6 months beyond the date of application is required. If your passport haven't 6 months validity left, your application will be rejected.
