Can anyone tell me what would be the fastest and cheapest way of getting to Summer Palace from The Emperor Hotel (No. 33, Qilehou Street, Dongcheng District)? Thank you!

The Emperor Hotel is very close to the Forbidden City. The fastest way from the hotel to Summer Palace is to take a taxi. It costs around CNY 40. Otherwise, you may transfer subway or public bus. Bus route: take No.685 near the Shenwu Gate of the Forbidden City to Beijing Zoo. There you need take No.332 to Summer Palace. It is cheap but takes 1.5 to 2 hours.
