About:China Student Visa

I am a student studying in Shanghai on a category F visa. I was told it was a single entry visa. Can I visit Hong Kong for the weekend and return to Shanghai for classes or is that considered leaving the country? So then I would have to renew my visa for another entry to the Chinese mainland?

Mr.Powers, if you go to Hong Kong from Shanghai, it is considered as exit, you have to get a new visa to return to China Mainland.
