About:Power Plugs / Sockets in China

i am a deployed soldier in afghanistan and i was wondering do i need the power converter in order to charge my ipod here i dont want to fry it or anything like that. i know i would need an adapter in order to charge it but i need to know if i need a power converter.

The electricity in China is generally 220V, 50HZ, AC (Hong Kong is 200V; Taiwan is 110V). Check your ipod and see if you need a power converter.

Most electronics have a power transformer built into the AC adapter cord. It's the square part of the cord - read the fine print and it will say that it accepts input voltage of 110v - 250v. So you don't need a power converter or transformer. But you will need a plug adapter.
