I think three hours means you leave from the hotel 3 hours before flight departure. Generally, you should reached the airport 1-1.5 hours and it takes about 1.5 hours (airport microbus) on the way to the airport. That is faster to take a taxi of course, or share taxi with other, which will be cheaper. So, you do not need to leave as early as 5am.
