About:Chinese Zodiac

I heard that 2010 is not a good year to get married. is that true? do you know why 2010 is not a good year of marriage?

I was born in May 19th, 1984 (rat) and my boyfriend's Dec 3, 1982 (dog).. We're planning to get married around October or November 2010, but a lot of people said that we shouldn't get married on the year of tiger..

Do you think 2010 is bad for us to get married? why?

Thank you b4..

Ms.iPon,

2010 is a widow-year, a year without the Spring according to Chinese lunar calendar. It is believed by Chinese people that it is not auspicious to get married in widow-year. Since you are not Chinese, you needn’t care about the widow year.

Ms.IPON,

It really depends on you. If you don’t believe “widow year”, you can get married as you wish. Just choose an auspicious day for your marriage. If you think that it might be unlucky to get married, then you may postpone your wedding date to next year.

I would say that there are many Chinese people who still believe “It is not auspicious to get married in Widow Year.” Well, you may get some advice from your parents too.

Ms,ipon,
some say that it is not a good choice to married in the year 2010 because of the fact of it is not the year of the tiger. it is said that a woman's husband may die early if married in the year 2010. You should probaly wate until next year.
