About:Top 8 China Train Travel Tips You Should Know

Hi,

I'm visiting China for the first time in March this year. I want to take the train (6 March) from Beijing to Shanghai (D301). I arrive in Beijing at 3 March. Do you think that's enough time to buy the tickets (soft sleeper) at the railway station? Or is there a big chance that the tickets will be sold out? Same question for the T211 from Shanghai to Shenzhen. We should arrive in Shanghai the 7th of March and depart there the 9th of March to Shenzhen. Can we still buy tickets in Shanghai at the railway station or is better to buy trough a more expensive travel agency?

Greetings

Nick

Believe me, no one is capable of predicting the availability of train tickets. Usually, in the beginning of March, college students are very likely to take trains to go back their schools. Besides, they have the priority to buy the tickets. So you will certainly take a risk if you buy the train tickets when you are in Beijing. But don't be too pessimistic. There are several trains from Beijing to Shanghai every day. You can also ask a travel agency to help. Anyway, good luck!
