About:Beijing Weather

Hi. my family and I are planning to visit Beijing and Shanghai from April 11 to 18, 2010. what approximate temperature on the said date? still cold? which is best month March or April 2010?

Also, which is cheaper in terms of transpotation from/to Beijing to Shanghai? by train or plane? How many hours travel if by train? Thanks a lot.

April will be warmer, and it is better to visit Beijing & Shanghai in this month. As for the transportation, it is cheaper to take a train, around 10 hours is needed for bullet trains.

The average temperature is about 15-20 centigrade at that time. Definitely, April is the best time to visit Beijing. Taking a train is much cheaper and it cost you more than 10 hours.

Can you recommend a cheaper accommodation in Beijing and Shanghai preferably downtown area (near bus station or MTR station)?

We are planning to travel in mainland China on our own without tourist guide like we did in HK and Macau. Do you think it would be easier for us?
