About:Chinese Consulate in New York

My passport expires next year, at July 18, 2010. I will be traveling in Asia starting Dec. 18. I checked the consulate website for New York but I cannot find much details.

1) How much is the renewal?
2) I see "prepare the documents" a lot, but what are those requirements?
3) How many business days will it take?
