Hi Dave
There are a few foreigners about. One of the best places to meet them is highlands coffee (check their site - highlands coffee for directions) Its run by another american guy called Chris and often has english speakers (chinese and foreign) passing through - and a bonus of great coffee and cheesecake!

Hey there James, I am Chris (owner of Highlands Coffee). Just thought I would reply so that everyone that reads this can know that Highlands Coffee is a good place to not only meet folks, but to get some on the ground info about Guiyang while enjoying a good cup of coffee.
