About:China Green Card (Permanent Residence Permit)

I'd been staying back and forth in China for two years now and I have a Chinese Gf whom I plan to marry this coming year, does my 2 year be counted on the five year required stay in China? Or should I start counting the 5 years from the time I'll get married?
