I am coming from Singapore in December. What is the most convenient way? How many days should I spend in Huangshan and is it possible to explore on my own or it's recommended that I take one of the tour packages? I don't like tours because I am a photographer and like to explore at my own pace. Do I have to hike up? Is there a more comfortable way? Thanks.

It is suggested that you take a flight from Singapore to Guangzhou Baiyun Airport firstly. At Guangzhou Airport, you could take a flight to Huangshan City in 2 hours. Then, from the downtown area, please catch a bus to Mt. Huangshan Scenic Area, Tangkou Town in 1.5 hours. If you know little Chinese and not an experienced travelers, you'd better participate in a tour group or hire a private guide with you. It is ok for you to explore the mountain for 2~3 days.
