any suggestion please...will it be better and possible to travel by train from hongkong to Changchun directly? or should i get hongkong to Beijing first? then Beijing to Changchun, will it be cheaper that way? i'll be in hongkong for a few days then would love to go to Changchun to visit a family friend for a couple of days... They said it would be more convenient to take a flight from HK to changchun but i'm considering the fun of traveling by train plus the costs....Help me please..

Hi Ms, if you are not travel in peak season, I think you could fly to Beijing and then to Changchun by train. The lowest airfare is around 650RMB, which is all the same with the train ticket fare from HK to Beijing. Of course, you could finish both of the two sections by train, but please make sure that you could purchase the train tickets.
