Hello, I am going to visit Dalian in middle of September to study there for 1 year. Can anyone tell me when the winter vacation starts in Dalian Maritime University? How long is it? Is there any hospital that serves for foreign student without payment near the Dalian Maritime University? and how much is the living expense in Dalian city? Is 1000CNY/month enough for food, transportation and clothing? Looking forward your quick reply!Thanks

Hi, one of my friends is studying in the university, so as I know, the winter vacation is around Chinese Spring Festival. This year, it should be started in the early Feb, 2010 to the end of Feb. No idea about the hospital, but I think the University could supply free medical treatment for its students, at least charge a little~ I think 1,000RMB is enough for daily life.

I happened to know that most of universities in China starts the winter vacation from the middle of January to the end the Feb. So a little longer than Ms.Jenni described. Whether 1000RMB is enough depends on whether you need to rent a apartment outside the school. If you have free dorm to live, that ok. The cost for renting a apartment is costly in dalian
