About:Chinese Embassy in Canada

I am travelling from Toronto to Bangkok, with a six hour layover in Shanghai. I have spent about 5 hours on the phone with China Eastern Airlines (in New York, Los Angelos, China and Vancouver)and trying to find out from other various offices whether or not I can get a cat through the airport without the quarantine applying. He will fly with Air Canada with us from Toronto to Shanghai, and from Shanghai to Bangkok with China Eastern. We are only at the airport for 6 hours. Air Canada is telling us he may have to be quarantined for 7 days in China (which makes no sense since we will not enter China except the airport). China Eastern doesn't seem to know. Chinese consulates don't answer their phones. If ANYONE knows anything about this I would really appreciate it, since we leave in one week!!! Thanks Sherri

Since it is under the Swine Flu, your cat may be quarantined in Shanghai. You should contact the air company whose flights you will take to get the answer.
