About:Chinese Embassy in U.K.

I am a British citizen visiting Seoul, and I have a round trip plane ticket to travel to Thailand with two 5 hour stops (coming from and going back to Seoul) in the Beijing airport. Do I need to buy a transit visa in Seoul?

You don't need to apply for a transit visa in Seoul. Foreigners transit a city of China for less than 24 hours and without leaving the airport, the transit visa is not required.
