Good day, We are group of 6 people that would like to fly from Kathmandu to Lhasa in September 2009. We want to then cycle from Lhasa back to Kathmandu. Please could you inform me what permits are required for this? We will travel on Euro and South African passports. Kind regards Geert De Decker email: mweb.co.za|dedecker

You need to apply for a Tibet entry permit firstly which can either be obtained by joining a group or by obtaining the permit from Tourism Bureau of Tibet Autonomous Region (Tel 86 891 6834313 or Fax 86 891 6834632).
By the way, individual travelers are not permit to travel Tibet, you have to take part in a tour group for your trip there.
