About:Chinese Embassy in U.S.A.

I'm an US citizen currently working in South Korea and would like to come visit China and I just want to clarify a point. If I want a tourist visa for China I have to go through a travel agency, I can't just come directly to the Chinese Embassy in Korea?

Yes, you need a visa to China and you can apply it through a travel agency, but it must be authorized by the Chinese Embassy in Korea.
