I amm a canadian citizen that will be working in the ukraine from july to the end of september, My wife is a chinese citizen living in guangzhou.....i would like her to visit me while I am in the ukraine. What documents are required for this type of travel for my wife? It seems many tour companies are interested in taking our money, with little gaurantee that she will be able to enter the country.My wife is currently is currently a housewife, with many years of university , and money in the bank.We would hope to stay around kiev for about a week to ten days to see some of the sights there.thankyou for your time and help.

Your wife can obtain a Ukraine visa at the Embassy of Ukraine in  Beijing. As of May 15, the Ukraine immigration administration requires Chinese visitors to Ukraine to prepare a financial proof proving that they can cover the expense during the whole trip. The proof would be checked at any time in Ukraine.
