Good day, We are group of 6 people that would like to fly from Kathmandu to Lhasa in September 2009. We want to then cycle from Lhasa back to Kathmandu. Please could you inform me what permits are required for this? We will travel on Euro and South African passports. Kind regards Geert De Decker email: mweb.co.za|dedecker

Mr. G.De Decker, I have visited tibet one month ago in a tour group. It's a mystical, beautiful region. I hope you can also enjoy its beauty. As I know, until now, Tibet does not accept individual tourist, so you six need contact a travel agency to be in a tour. But in September 2009, I don't know whether the policy will change or not.
1/ An Entry Permit issued by Tibetan Tourist Bureau is required. (Fax number of Tibetan Tourist Bureau: 0086-891-6834632; Telephone number:0086-891-6834313).
2/ Financial Proof
3/ A copy of Lhasa hotel booking (you'd better provide the order to insure the success of visa application)
4/ your six's passport valid for more than six months with blank visa pages.
5/ six completed visa application forms with one photo (passport photo) attached
