About:China Embassy in Thailand

I am a Canadian citizen living in Thailand and will be working in China with my husband. Please advise as to the type of visa we need to get before leaving Thailand. My employer in China said they will change our visa to a Z visa once we arrive. Can we get an L visa before leaving? How long is this visa valid for once we arrive into China?

If your employer can transact the Z visa for you, you may apply a L visa to China firstly. I think you mean the duration of the L visa after you enter China, it is 30 days.
