The price difference between tickets booking websites
Hi,

I'm planning a trip to China this July. When looking around for flight tickets, I checked with expedia.com, as I've used them before and they are advertising that they don't levy a service charge. Trying to get a best deal, I googled china flight tickets and contacted several more booking sites, then found I can get a more favorable price from agents in China, someone told me that because the quoted price on expedia.com is full price, but agents in China offer discount price with a small service fee, is that true?

Yes, that's true and I have met such problems. It is easy to compare the price offered by different agencies, and I found the price expedia quoted is much higher than others', although they advertised no booking fees. From my previous experiences, the agencies in China always get better price than those outbound ones. To me, it doesn't matter whether there is any booking fee, the key point is the final fare I need to pay.

Wow, unbelievable! That's Expedia. I used their service so many times, now I realized I paid over so much for the cryptic information. Never try again!!!!!!!!!

I travel to Vietnam early this year. I flighted from Hanoi to Hue and then flighted to Hu Chi Minh city for a single way. I checked Expedia and it offered me USD602 for the two single ways, but the local travel agent offered me only USD126 for the same flights. It's too greedy for Expedia to charge so high fee. I will never use Expedia any more.
